Dr. Swarnim Waglé was appointed the Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission (NPC), a position with a
rank equivalent to a cabinet minister, on August 3, 2017. Chaired by the Prime Minister, NPC is the apex advisory
body for development policies and programs in the Government of Nepal. Prior to becoming the de facto chief
of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Waglé served as its Member for 28 months at two different periods
between May 2014 and August 2017.
